This is a very unassuming restaurant. It's location is unusual and the outside is not a usual modern restaurant. That's where everything changes. The steak is outstanding. I had the fillet mignon (10oz) on one occasion and the daily special Ribeye (14 to 16 oz) on another. Both were perfectly done (medium rare) and as tender and easy to cut as butter. The ribeye is very large and won't be disappointed.

steak cooked to perfection, the servers are soo personable friendly and helpful.... bubbly! Its not a luxury restaurant, definitely good for a only complaint. I like to have some Green beans or steamed broccoli with a steak. The only veg was the salad... good salad though! In house dressings are a rare treat!

Nice quiet little spot. Very cozy atmosphere. Any dish made with beef is delicious, especially their beef vegetable soup. Only downside is no beer on tap. Only in bottles. But they have a better selection than most places.

Really good down to earth food. Always been very popular in Brandon. Their beef (burgers, steaks) are excellent. I almost always stop there for lunch or dinner. Sure bet!

It's a small building on 1st Street North, and many people in Brandon know it to be an incredible place to eat (especially steak). It is even good for larger gatherings.

Dressed up for Christmas this old time eatery hit the spot. The Food was really decent. The potatoes were something special. Also have the home made salad dressing, mine was blue cheese , Delicious. The people in Brandon told us to eat here and we enjoyed the experience. Time travel back to a time when the server was friendly the decor kept you looking till the food was served. The next table was a family birthday.

Willing to give this place another chance.Brandon has lots of chain restaurants, and I was looking for a local place, and I discovered the Beef and Barrel, located just off the Trans-Canada Hwy. The decor was a shrine to the Montreal Canadians, amidst a quasi-Bavarian snow shack, and was a time warp to the 1970's.I ordered the 16 oz. ribeye with fries and a Caesar salad. The cups of clam chowder was very bitter, and had raw onion. I finished it as I was really hungry. The Caesar salad was a garden salad with Caesar dressing. Again, I was hungry. The ribeye was flame grilled and cooked to order. The fries were store bought. It was good. Overall, I will check this place out for the burgers when I drive though Brandon and when I need a quiet place to recharge my batteries. Don't expect the Keg.

Excellent steak, excellent service! One of the better places to eat in Brandon. Conveniently located just off the highway for people passing through.
