We celebrated my father's birthday here and even the stingiest among us were already planning their next visit -- the food was THAT good. Everything was perfection. I don't feel like writing a novel about it (I could). Just go! (FYI - the former head chef at Cork now owns the #1 rated Brewing Company.... I suspect there is a link! If not, kudos to the head chef at Cork!). The service was also exceptional. If this place was in Toronto they could charge double.
We were here Aug 5 for dinner. We walked in and saw the sign "wait to be seated". So we waited and waited and waited. The 3 ladies that were there behind the bar busying themselves made eye contact and then proceeded to ignore us. (that should have been our first indication that this wasn't going to go well and should have walked out then) I said (to no one in particular, really just anyone that wanted to listen), "so are we supposed to just seat ourselves?" One of the ladies looked at us and indicated that she thought we had been taken care of. Ummm no, we're still standing here.So we get to the table. The waitress is pleasant and professional, gives us the menus, takes are drink order and then we don't see her. When she does come back she has our drinks and we order an appetizer, the Baked Brie which was very good. Again we don't see the waitress for about 30 min. When she does comes back we order the entrée, Husband orders the smoked brisket with fries and beans. The brisket is medocre at best and the beans are worse than what you get out of a can. (he says canned beans are better) The fries were ok. I order the Pad Tai which had a creamy curry sauce on it. Never saw that before, but it was ok, The noodles were a bit soggy, No wow factor for either dish, To top off the non impressive food or service, it took us more than an hour and a half from appetizer to receiving the bill. Not once did anyone come by to refill the drinks or ask how everything was. Just a note: it was not busy at all,. I can overlook average food but it's the service that would keep me coming back to a place. We won't be back
