While taking in some plays at the Shaw Festival, my son chose Escabeche to treat me for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately in a solarium type room overlooking the street and a park opposite. Service was attentive and unrushed. We (incl. his special lady friend) shared a smoked trout starter which was delicious and well prepared. Different entrees were selected. I chose swordfish, he had pork loin and she the flatiron steak. All were nicely presented and very tasty, tho my sample of the steak I found a bit chewy for the price. All were in the $35 to $40 range Canadian. Some nice touches, they brought us 3 servings of "Amuse Bouche" with our appetizer and after dinner, 3 little chocolate cups with a tasty custard type filling which were enjoyed by all of us.

We are regular diners at this incredible restaurant for the last two years and each experience never fails to fulfill our standards.Beautiful food, gorgeous ambiance and perfect service. For dinner we usually get lovely Valerie who is mainly the reason why we kept coming back. Her very sweet manner and care for the customer 's best possible experience is unparalleled by most servers we had in the past. She is an asset for the restaurant and a delight for my husband and I to add to the beautiful food we are excited to try every time.Over time we got to know Fred the sommelier who's wine list is truly a gem and who's expertise is what you want for the perfect wine pairing!Gerard is another server whom we loved having for our many many dinners there. He complements the restaurant with his professional and engaging manner. Our latest experience was just a couple days ago for lunch.Lily was our server and she was perfect!Great sense of humor and perfect service. She is another server in this restaurant that makes us enjoy our visits so much!We live in Toronto but enjoy coming here so much, the drive seems short!AS for the food,it is delicious, delicious ,delicious! We can't wait to be back!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel and ate breakfast at Noble on our last day. The service was attentive, and the food was good. But, the really stand out for me was the gluten free bread, which was the best I have ever had -- so much so that we bought a loaf to take home.

We were so excited to eat at this beautiful, white tabled clothed, antique-filled hotel. We were SOOOO disappointed. I ordered the salmon which could have beengood if it were not served charred, burnt, overcooked. My husband's hamburgerwas also way overcooked and the man at the table next to us raised a 20 minutestink with the Chef over his too well done steak. That was unpleasant. Our server was inadequate.Naturally, none of the orders were compted and the bill was very large.

My wife and I were attending a play at the court house theater and I noticed this restaurant offered a PRE-THEATRE DINNER PROMOTION. It's also just a short walk to the theater from here. So I reserved this dinner in advance. The promotion os for a 3 course meal appetizer, dinner and dessert from a pre selected menu. The offerings are more limited then the regular menu but you should be able to find something to your liking for all 3 courses. Both my wife's and mine meals were very good and served in a timely manner to guarantee we wouldn't miss the play. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is a classic old time hotel restaurant. Very elegant. As always in a fine dinning restaurant in a tourist area it will be on the expensive side. However , the quality of the food and the excellent service was superb.

Wanting to give my mother a treat for all she has done and continues to do for her adult children, a couple of us bought tickets to the Shaw Festival and followed the performance with a very fulfilling meal at the Escabeche Restaurant at the Prince of Wales Hotel. The food was very generously portioned, finely prepared and aesthetically right on point! From our appetizer course through to our main and then dessert, we were very happy with our chosen dishes. Great flavour and wonderful combinations. I enjoyed a pre-meal cocktail prepared with Dillon's Gin, my favourite gin, which was a nice bonus. A lovely deep Ontario red was recommended with my meal and was a great pairing. Our waiter, Gerard was excellent! Professional and personable; not stuffy, easy to engage with. He answered questions about meals with a thorough knowledge and made excellent suggestions, including my wine pairing. He described the food's composition so as to note the highlights of the experience. He was also very helpful beyond the meal, giving recommendations for driving routes home when learned our regular route was closed due to an accident. A pleasant fellow, who struck the right chord with his interacting with us at the table: not too much, not too little, and always quickly available. Overall, an excellent experience. My mother was very pleased and felt spoiled that day! I was equally pleased and must give props to Escabeche for making the evening such a pleasant one! I would return to the Escabeche without hesitation.

Great place to have a drink and have a snack. Charming decor and great service. A bit pricey, but that's to be expected.
