that was our second time. the first time it opened first. then the vibe was cool, young and hip and exciting. the first visit we focused on the seafood, and we are in the love to the place. this trip was another mood and experience. quite honestly, the clientele has run. we sat between a drunk junior level lawyer who tried to sit all on the table. we get it, you've lived in london for a few years and your father knows the trainer of the islander. the table on the other side was a plastic surgery mannequin, whose date arrived an hour later, then spent the entire meal complaining about the fact that the really friendly server told them they had only a 2 hours sitting opportunity. he also complained to the manager and was quite rude to the server that told her to choose what he should eat and if he doesn't like it, he will never come back. I understand, but they can't control who is visiting. the food has been hit or miss. as I said, for the first time there was a drive home on all the planes. Thai time not so much. the souly toast was a strange great. too big for finger food, but do I use a knife and fork? It was good, not $100 good. the smoked trout on the buttermilk waffel was amazing. fantastic. also the palace bacon. the bone-in striploin was guided by the mill. nothing special, though a little bit too carburized. the smoked carrot cake was a total non-sburger, while we fought to finish the carrot. we were really thrilled to have the key calk cake again, as it was a favorite last time. it was served with a steak knife because the crust was so hard a fork would not go through it. Finally, our server was great and the FOH staff is and was very professional. was it worth over $700 after controlling and drinking money? no. sad I think our second trip to psp will be last time.
A refined take on a steakhouse with elevated seafood and vegetable dishes. Food is delicious and visually appealing, plated without a hint of pretentiousness, but still playful at times. Would have liked to see the beer list include more local independent breweries. Aside from that, the drinks list has well curated options for everyone. Service is exceptional. Staff know the menu inside and out. You can trust them to make your experience seamless and satisfying.
Overall it’s a nice restaurant, a bit overprice for what it is. We ordered 3 apps, 2 that included bread, then prime rib, potatoes, yorkshire pudding for main. I thought it’s more than enough for 2 people, but our server told us we are on the lighter side, and we should get 1 or 2 more app…so we added 1 more app. We end up being extremely full, and didn’t even have room to order dessert. Also I think they forgot it’s a birthday, didn’t ask or offer anything. Anyhow we didn’t have room for anything else.
