When my husband enquired at Konkan Delite about their catering service for about 40 persons, the owner, Aloysius, offered their place as the venue so that we didnt have to rent a hall to hold our wedding reception. It turned out to be a fantastic idea. The restaurant has a capacity for 60 persons but Loy was kind to close it off for our event. The place was complete with food warmer, wine bar, sound system and even LCD projector and screen. Definitely an ideal place for any small group events. My husband and I held our wedding reception at Konkan Delite mid August and were very happy with the service. Loy even gave complimentary starter which was extremely delicious. Food was served on time and kept sufficiently warm throughout the night. The feedback from our guests were very positive. We were made to understand that the foods were all made from scratch, from fresh spices. They were simply delicious and our guests loved them. Some of them even ordered take-away after the dinner. This place comes highly recommended if you like Indian food, and want a cosy place for your event, or simply just for lunch. A word of advice though - call them in advance for reservation. They are so good that they are often busy and booked up, especially for the weekends.

We visited this restaurant along with some of our friends last year and from the time we entered to the time we left, we enjoyed every bit of it. The food is a complete taste of back home. We are from Goa and every bite reminded us of home. They had music that night too and we enjoyed dancing as well.

Excellent sorpotel , beef fry, sannas on this visit. The food menu is limited but the food is spot on! Very good family run business.

I usually don't like to write a negative report on any restaurant as it takes tremendous effort to run one. A restaurant that has been there for a decade or more and still survives is worth visiting. Decided to try them with family. Here are the good and bad: Decor: For a restaurant that has been around for so long - the decor, table arrangements was pretty bad. Don't get me wrong - it was clean but just all badly arranged. The restaurant was empty save two families but all tables were joined together in long rows with 10 chairs each. Didn't feel like private dining but a communal buffer. The cutlery was missing, no salt and pepper shakers, no napkins. Service: the owner Aloises (Loy) doubles up as the server, chef, and take out order taker in phone. Spoke to him for a good 30 minutes during the meal and realized that his main business is party/ take out. This could be the main reason for lack of attention to dine in customers. My advice is either he should close the dine in or bite the bullet and get more staff. Food: when you call your restaurant "Konkan" then be sure what you serve has an option for "Traditional" style cooking. Ordered the following:- Fish Cutlets: really nice and crisp. However it completely lacked any "Konkan flavour" or spices. Quite bland and good for people's who can't take the heat. Tilapia Fish fry: quite average. Pork Vindaloo: the spices were right. The heat was too low. Had asked for a bit more "firey" but they couldn't make it that way. Made me wonder if they had pre cooked and it was "heat and serve". Nevertheless enjoyable. King fish curry: Stellar. This was a really good dish. Recommended. Rice: why am I writing about rice? Well the only type of rice that they serve with everything is type of pullao. Very tasty but a bad combination for Konkan food. I did ask for plain steam rice but again they were unable to serve it. All in all - maybe they were having a bad day or dine in is not their focus. I would ask my friends to order a takeout but avoid dining in. Got to go there a second time to see if my analysis is correct.

Only 3 items were available from the Menu, each time we asked the gentleman taking our order, who had a phone stuck to one ear, about items on the menu he kept saying, no this not available , what about...this..no that is not available, in the end he claimed he had only 4 items available, from the almost 30 plus items listed on their Menu. Why they call themselves a Restaurant is a mystery...why can't they just call themselves Catering services, call in advance to book your items...this way there is no misunderstanding...Their restaurant is very very basic with no warmth or services...Basically there was nothing to sample...that to on a Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. !!

Their online menu has a variety of options that are not present in their regular menu (e.g., prawns sukka). The staff member seemed confused about this, and mentioned there is also a takeout menu; I find it ridiculous their take-out menu offers a vast variety of options (while their regular menu only has about 40%).Thought about skipping dinner (not a good sign when you are the only one at the restaurant at 6:00 PM, but they had a couple of take-outs).The paper tablecloth had written towards the end the promise of a culinary experience. This was not the case.Although the food was not bad it was not exceptional either. Asked to increase the spice level and still seemed bland. The nan had (at best) pita quality.Decided to leave the left-overs.Perhaps my expectations were higher, but personally would not recommend it.
