Okay, I'm a nerd. While I did check the menu and reviews before going here for breakfast, I chose it first and foremost for the name. I'm glad I did. Located a short walk outside Old Quebec City, Le Hobbit is a nice place for breakfast. I made my reservation for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (in October). I probably didn't need to; there is still plenty of room when I arrived, though the restaurant was filling up during my time there. At any rate, I was pleased to be seated at a window; as a solo diner, I loved being able to people-watch. The food was delicious. I ordered one of their small plates (an apple crisp) accompanied by bacon and herbed potatoes, which was more than enough food. I ended up not being able to finish. The only negative (a small one) was that the potatoes were served in a tall container rather than a plate. That made them slightly awkward, but after I finished my bacon, I just transferred them to my empty plate. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast and for solo diners.
