I can see this restaurant getting five stars from some people, and perhaps only three stars from others. Both the decor and the food are similar in that they make bold choices, but do not always seem to work well together. Moorish window treatments with postmodern art sculptures and industrial grey walls in places (plus exposed ceilings) are all vivid and interesting, but not really coherent--which was fine for me, but not my dinner companion. Same for the food. Beautifully plated (though a really odd one-third full and two-thirds empty look on one dinner entree plate), each ingredient well-prepared, but with pieces that do not work together. Why were there toasted corn muffin pieces with my wild boar? Why put anise as a flavor with the soup that was already overly complicated? Yet much of the food was really quite lovely and completely successful (the pheasant appetizer, the beef entree). Portions are on the "nouvelle cuisine" (read SMALL side). Competent, if not warm service. So go and decide for yourself!
