I wish that I could give this review a rating worse than 'Terrible'. This was by far the worst dining experience of my life. I'm 44 and travel a lot. We had a large reservation for 7:00, which I arrived early for, the night of a comedy event. I was the third of eleven to arrive. I had a seat and was not greeted by anyone. The rest of our party arrived and a half hour later our server came over to us. It was 7:25 at this point and we were all very hungry and in much need of a drink. My sister and brother-in-law were sitting beside me and placed their drink and dinner order as we'd had ample time to review menus. I was obviously ready to place my order next when she walked away. By the time she got to me she said that 'I was one of the late ones'. What?!? Anyways I placed my order and proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. All of us were waiting. There was chatter at another table that one of the couples had been served food and the other couple didn't get their food for another 1.5 hours. In the meantime my 19 year-old niece and her boyfriend had arrived. They just wanted to sit with us as they'd already eaten (lucky!). The waitress came by for another drink order and said that they would have to move downstairs as they were not eating. I explained that she was my niece and wanted someone to sit with, and our server said that if she didn't go downstairs, that she would throw her over the balcony. What?!? I just told my niece not to bother with her and we all sat and began to enjoy the comedy show. At 8:35, the server approached one of our party and had said that their was a mix-up in the kitchen and their wait staff had been serving our food orders. What?!? More comedy and at 9:30 I cancelled my dinner order. The server asks me what number I was? What?!? How should I know. At 9:50 my friends were finally served their cold dinners. Many of which were inedible. I understand that it was a busy night (not the first time a comedy show has been held at this venue) and that the Element put out an apology on their Facebook page. This was no excuse to have such poor service. What's worse is that I think our server was the manager/owner! Perhaps you're in the wrong business!

I had a wonderful evening, the service was friendly and fun, I have never been disappointed when I go there. They were a little bit slower then usual this evening as they were serving food upstairs as well as (for the first time ever) downstairs as well. They wanted to accommodate the need for the service as many people made last minute reservations and to provide they did something they never have done in the past and since it was last minute they didn't have the time to bring in extra staff. Once we ordered our food was piping hot and so yummy I was really impressed.

We are new to the area. Went for fish and chips. Very dissatisfied. The fish was all batter. Less than an ounce of actual fish. We paid $12 for frozen french fries. Service was good though.

Have enjoyed many events and family birthdays at the Element. They provide an excellent food menu, great alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and from time to time special entertainment is offered.

Recently learned that the Element now serves breakfast, so my partner and I decided to try it out. The portions were big, and the service was great. The food itself was good, but not great. A nice little breakfast spot to try out. I do not recommend the "Kootenay Scramble", or as it's spelled on the menu "kootnay scramble", but my partner had the "True Canadian" and it looked great. The prices were reasonable, though a bit on the high side. Might be back, but will continue to explore other breakfast spots around the area.

Breakfast has always been dominated by a different local spot in Castlegar, but when you hear about something new... you try it. I'm glad I did. The head chef served me himself. The food was amazing and service was top notch. Found my new Sunday breakfast spot. When you have a great breakfast, you want to go there for lunch & dinner.

This used to be a an upper end food service restaurant ...Menu has changed to more Pub Style Food? Now leans more to hamburgers & poutines etc. No steak or prime rib except Fridays.Limited food items (preheated ?) Totally surprised at the changes.
