We frequent this local restaurant on an intermittent basis and have generally found that the cuisine is excellent; the service timely; the ambiance suitable. We would recommend this to either casual visitors to this type of food or to "hard core" experts of Japanese delights.
Loved the agadashi tofu, and tempura, and gyoza, and spicy tuna roll and dynamite roll with spicy tuna inside. Clean, bright, great service. We will go back.
We eat here quite often. Most of the food is awesome. However that being said, I was really disappointed with the Chicken Satay. My first problem with it is that they left the skin on the chicken. It was also pink in a couple of spots
Wanted to come here for quite some time, and finally found a night. Starting with the drinks and appetizers, new favors to savor and a great selection. Rolls are tremendous and the sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious. Prices are great
Sakai is about a 20 minutes drive west of Edmonton in the city of Spruce Grove. We were there for a family supper. Food was good, price was reasonable, service was good. It is worth a short drive to get some good Japanese food run by Chinese!
Fresh is the key word here. The sushi is very fresh. I highly recommend the sashimi here. The rolls are really good. As a local this is one of two restaurants I really like in Spruce Grove and recommend.
I love everything about Sakai Sushi Bar. It's a great place for 1 on 1 lunch dates with a friend, or a special date night with your spouse. They also have areas partitioned off for larger groups, which is awesome! I might do my birthday party there this summer ;) The food is OUTSTANDING, and reasonably priced. The staff are welcoming, professional, and prompt. I've always had excellent food and service here. My friend and I usually get green tea, tempura vegetables, dragon eye rolls, and whatever other type of sushi that grabs our eye that day. If I could eat here every day, I totally would ;) If you're ever in Spruce Grove, you've gotta try this place out! And they do have a variety of non sushi items for all of the Alberta Rednecks I'm friends with who are too afraid to try new things, lol
While travelling in the Edmonton Area, I stopped at a little Japanese Restaurant for a quick bite. The Sushi Platter was very well presented and was delicious. A great break from fast food with quick service.
