Had made reservations but not needed today as restaurant not busy at 12:30 pm. We were taken straight to our table and our waitress came within minutes of sitting. Good service throughout meal. One of the knives at table had dried food on it which can put people off. We got another one. 4 out of 5 of us had the Lunch size lasagna. Pretty small serving and average taste...I had salad with the light Asian dressing not a fan of it & would not order that dressing again.I think I would try the clam chowder next time. Included in lunch is soup, salad, ice cream, and bread. Scoop of Spumoni ice cream at end was good. Overall average. Nice atmosphere. As it was quiet there was lots of parking in the restaurant lot.
that was our first time we came to this place and I must say that we were all impressed. I made a reservation before, as it was a large group of us for dinner. service was friendly and attentive. the drinks took a past, but eating came in a decent pace. the minenstronesuppe was really good. they were accommodating and allowed us to bring a birthday cake. the prices were reasonable and the shares were a good size. the service, the atmosphere, the eating and the drinks were wonderful and I would come back when in the opposite.
A couple months ago, my friend and I ate across the road from this restaurant at The Olive Garden. Never again, this place is much better. First, you can make a reservation and not have to wait outside for 45 minutes (which happened to us...at The Olive Garden). Second, the service was exceptional and friendly (shout out to Cheyenne, our server). Third, I ordered the chicken parmigiana and unlike across the road, this chicken was tender and the coating was not hard and ultra salty. Fourth, all the employees that we saw were kind and cared about our enjoyment of the food. I highly recommend The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Poorly greeted told to sit in our car till they called us not asked! Seated at table and then moved cause they seated us Ata table with reservation. As if we sat there on our own attitude. Plates were dirty and when...I waved over younger hostess and we asked for clean plates no apology and we felt like she rolled her eyes at us. Setver was pleasant, patient and helpful. Salad was awful seemed like bagged salad. French onion soup barely hot and not flavorful. Mains were good. Spumoni did not come with allergy warning maybe your brand doesn't need one? Bread was great had to ask for more. If coke is bottomless refills never offered. Were seated along west side windows and sills were filthy only clean by tables were customers put their arms up. Did point this out to gal who took our payment. Overall so disappointed had really looked forward to this post covid night out. Can't recommend and won't return
I have to admit I was very disappointed with the Old Spaghetti Factory. We came in with a large group (14) without a reservation and were automatically charged a 20% gratuity. The service was slow and unresponsive. We waited a long time just to get water and bread on the table. It was at least 20 minutes before they got around to taking our orders. There seemed to be only one or two wait staff covering the restaurant which was not that busy. We repeatedly had to ask for the usual service like more water or bread. You would think that if they were charging us an mandatory gratuity that they would at least try to earn that tip.I used to enjoy the food at Old Spaghetti factory but this meal was uninspired. I had the lasagna and the sauce was bland and there was not enough cheese.When we were finished, it took a long time to clear the dishes and check if we wanted dessert. In fact , my dishes were still on the table when ice cream was served, and remained there until we left.And the prices were too high. I realize it is “all included” but even the lunch-size entrees were more than $15.I won’t be back here which is sad because I used to enjoy the Old Spaghetti Factory. You need more staff who know how to provide a good level of service. I always felt we were inconvenience the woman who was our server.
The waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink and my sister said water. I said I would have water and a diet coke and water. He came back with one water and the diet coke. I had to ask again for the water. It was hard to understand what he was saying to both of us. There was an additional menu along with their paper menu. On it was a flatbread with chicken artichokes and chicken. The price was $9.95. My sister asked how big it was. The waiter indicated that it was an appetizer. She said that is not what I asked but that she wanted to know how big it was. I said, it is as big as half the placemat, or perhaps the size of the folded napkin? He laughed. Not sure what was funny about a simple question. He said about the size of the folded napkin. It was certainly not worth the price they were charging. He said at his former employer, the Olive Garden, they charged much more for the same item, this comment was not relevant.She decided to have the Roasted Garlic Grilled Chicken and asked if the linguine noodles could be substituted with French fries for $18.35. The waiter said yes. My sister indicated that she hoped there would not be additional charge and he said no. I had the Spaghetti with Mushroom Sauce for $12.85. I then asked, doesn’t it come with a salad and he said, oh yes, what kind of dressing and I had blue cheese and my sister had minestrone. I don’t think we should have had to prompt and ask him.The waiter brought bread and we told the waiter he could take it away. He said but it is good bread, which it is not. After we finished our soup and salad we placed them on the empty part of the table. He said to us are you finished? Not sure many people would place their virtually empty plates off to the side.The kitchen put the grilled garlic chicken breast right on top of the fries, which made them soggy. I got very little spaghetti and there was maybe a couple of tablespoons of tomato sauce and perhaps a dozen mushrooms. His service was poor and the food was average. We won’t be going to this location again.
As we got to the restaurant, we were greeted and asked "table for how many"? We replied for 6, the assistant hostess(she didn't look like she was older than 12), the hostess was far away, but didn't seem to be interested in helping, we were told that they will look for a table for us, not sure why, the restaurant was 80% empty. The server was pleasant, helpful, but didn't seem to know what was on the menu, the order took a while to get to us, and they seemed to be anxious to see us leave quickly, the last time we were at their downtown Calgary location, the experience was not that good either, drinks seem to be pretty expensive, the food is average, yet the Banff location seems to have very good service and food!!!
We came here as a group of 10 people for lunch on a Sunday. We were welcomed warmly by a young host. Our waiter was nice and professional. We only got a loaf of bread hardly enough for 4 people. We asked and got another one. The meals came with soup or salad, a pasta and a scoop of ice cream. My spaghetti with meatballs was ok. Did not taste meat in the meatballs. The ice cream was a hit. The restaurant looks clean. Their pricing is reasonable. There are many items on the menu. Our group would return in a few months.
